Christopher Benjamin, BA, MA (Clin. Neuro), PhD

Dr. Benjamin completed his Master’s and PhD in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Melbourne, followed by research and clinical fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and UCLA where he was Chief Fellow. He is an Associate Professor at Yale University in Connecticut, which he joined in 2014, and a member of the neuropsychology team at VGH’s epilepsy clinic in BC, Canada, since 2024. He has over fifteen years’ clinical, research, and educational experience, with specializations in epilepsy, brain mapping, dyslexia, and ADHD.

Dr. Benjamin is also active in the neuropsychology community, serving until 2026 as a co-chair of the International Neuropsychological Society’s Epilepsy Special Interest Group. He is a licensed psychologist in Canada (BC #4057) and the U.S. (CT #8423).

Jared Cherry — Graduate Student. Jared is a Clinical Psychology PhD student specializing in Neuropsychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He has professional experience as a teacher and course designer for multiple international educational institutions, and he has contributed to research in several Neurology, Neuropsychology, and Neuroscience laboratories across North America. His research interests center on the application of neuropsychology to neurosurgical contexts, particularly in pre-surgical assessment and post-surgical outcome monitoring.

His work in the lab focuses on the use of resting state and task-based functional MRI (fMRI) for presurgical language mapping in patients with epilepsy. More broadly, his research aims to integrate neuroimaging and neuropsychological assessment to help inform cognitive and behavioral interventions, including psychoeducation, cognitive rehabilitation, and cognitive training.
